I am the Pastor of Mt. Hope Congregational Church in Livonia, Michigan and Co-Founder and Executive Director of Supply and Multiply, Haiti. I am a husband, father, Pastor, Preacher, Teacher, Missionary to Haiti, a mentor for Puritan Reformed Biblical Seminary, Adjunct Professor for Nations University and Global University. I write books and articles. I equip, empower, and encourage Christians to live their lives on mission in the local church and wherever the Lord leads them.
I earned my formal education at Liberty University (Bachelor of Science in Religion), Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Arts in religion, Master of Divinity), and Temple Baptist Seminary, of Tennessee Temple University, (Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching). I am a life-long student and a lover of old dusty books and libraries.
I am a Congregational Minister, shepherding and serving in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. I am committed to the Historic Christian Faith and in living it out in an undenominational simple way. I am a Pilgrim with a Bible as my compass on this journey.
Mt Hope Congregational Church is comprised of believers in Jesus from various and diverse backgrounds personally and theologically. We are a covenanted people gathered around an open Bible and hearts flooded with the Holy Spirit as we share the love of God in Christ in the world.
Visit the Sermon Page at Mt Hope for regular sermon audio from weekly messages delivered by Pastor Chris Surber. My goal in preaching is to deliver messages directly from the Bible in ways that people can understand. I am passionate about the with-God life, the risen Christ, and our calling in Him.
